The Policy group exists to ensure that all local installers and other organisations have a clear understanding of government and local policy on solar power, and on renewable energy more generally.
The group acts to provide collaborative responses to any relevant consultations – for example the recent Feed in Tariff phased consultation – and provides regular updates on these activities to the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (WoE LEP) Low Carbon Group.
The development of renewable energy as a viable competitor to “conventional” carbon-intensive fuel sources has recently been a largely legislation and policy-driven enterprise. It is therefore vital that those organisations involved in research, development and deployment of these technologies in the Greater Bristol Area are kept appraised of current or potential policy framework, in order to remain highly competitive and innovative and to take full advantage of the legislative setting.
The Policy group also discusses the adoption of best policy by it’s members.
